Use Teams Slash Commands

Slash commands are shortcuts for performing common tasks in the web and desktop versions of Teams. Some of the actions you can take using commands include:

  • Updating your status
  • Going to a specific channel
  • Showing your recent files
  • Finding saved messages
  • And more

To use a slash command in Teams,

  1. Open one of your Teams chats or click in the search box at the top of your Teams window.
  2. In the composition box, type a back slash “/”.
  3. After that, you’ll see a menu of commands.
  4. Select the desired command with your mouse or type it out and press Enter.
