Robin Matchett-Schmidt is a Child and Family Therapist II with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin-Community Services in Milwaukee, and a team member of the Institute for Child and Family Well-Being. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Wisconsin and has been in her current position since January 2015.

Robin began her work in case management and initial assessment with various organizations in Milwaukee and has worked in child welfare since 2005. She provides evidence-based treatments to children and families who have experienced trauma, and is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

As part of the ICFW, Robin facilitates trainings to internal and external professionals on childhood trauma, adverse childhood experiences and other pertinent topics.

Robin is an ally for the LGBTQ+ community and is interested in helping children and families find equality and social justice. She has had years of training on the effects of child abuse and neglect and has a particular interest in educating the public about the long-term effects of trauma.

Robin received her bachelor’s degree in human services from Springfield College in Milwaukee. She later received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
