DESCRIPTION:Please join us in celebrating 50 years of Creative Writing at UWM with a reading by poet and essayist Derrick Harriell.\nDerrick Harriell resides in Oxford MS and teaches in the English and African American Studies programs at the University of Mississippi where he also directs the Master of Fine Arts in creative writing program. His poem collections are Cotton (Aquarius Press- Willow Books 2010)\, Ropes (Aquarius Press- Willow Books 2013- winner of the 2014 Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Poetry Book Award)\, and Stripper in Wonderland (LSU Press 2017). His poems and essays have been published widely. \nFREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a literary reading with Gail Aronson\, Lenea Grace\, and Rosebud Ben-Oni to celebrate the talented writing in UWM’s national literary journal\, Cream City Review . Refreshments served at 7pm\, Reading at 7:30pm. \nGail Aronson’s work recently appears or is forthcoming inDenver Quarterly\, Nat. Brut\, Midwestern Gothic\, The Adroit Journal\, The Offing\, and elsewhere. She is a fiction editor for Omnidawn Publishing and she lives and works in Pittsburgh. \nLenea Grace is the author of A Generous Latitude (ECW Press\, 2018) and her work has appeared in The Walrus\, Best New Poets\, The Malahat Review\, The Fiddlehead\, and elsewhere. Lenea is the 2017 winner of The Walrus Poetry Prize Readers’ Choice Award for her poem “Echo”. She lives in Gibsons\, BC\, Canada. \nRosebud Ben-Oni is a recipient of the 2014 NYFA Fellowship in Poetry and a 2013 CantoMundo Fellowship. Her work appears in POETRY\, The American Poetry Review\, POETS.org\, The Poetry Review (UK)\, Tin House\, among others. Her poem “Poet Wrestling with Angels in the Dark” was commissioned by the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City\, and published by The Kenyon Review Online. DESCRIPTION:Rodrigo Toscano is the author of seven collections of poetry\, most recently Explosion Rocks Springfield. His collection In Range is forthcoming from Chax Book 2019. His Collapsible Poetics Theater was a National Poetry Series selection\, and he is the recipient of a New York State Fellowship in Poetry. He works for the Labor Institute on educational / training projects that involve environmental and labor justice\, health & safety culture transformation\, and immigrant worker rights.
