The UW-Shared Services email will come from the email address: GetHelpUW@support.wisconsin.edu. Employees will also receive a reminder email prior to the due date of course completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col uwm-u-border--right\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h3\" id=\"h-completion-deadline\">Completion Deadline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline for completing the training courses is 30 days after the date that the training is assigned in Canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h3\" id=\"h-please-note-for-salary-increases\">Please Note for Salary Increases<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Completion of the UW System mandated trainings, within the allotted time frame, is a requirement to be eligible for salary increases, including those as part of a State of Wisconsin Pay Plan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left default\" id=\"h-accessing-the-trainings\">Accessing the Trainings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<p>The mandatory employee trainings are administered on a learning management system called Canvas, which is accessed through my.wisconsin.edu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please log into my.wisconsin.edu, browse the apps, and launch the Mandatory Training app to begin the mandatory trainings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/my.wisconsin.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">my.wisconsin.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col uwm-l-col--4 uwm-l-offset--1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left default\" id=\"h-frequently-asked-questions\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row uwm-l-row--4\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h3\" id=\"h-faq-for-employees\">FAQ for Employees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion\" data-accordion-prefix-classes=\"uwm\" data-accordion-cool-selectors=\"1\"><button class=\"uwm-p-accordion--toggle-button size-p-md\">Expand All<\/button>\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">1. What courses are included in the UW System Mandatory Employee Training Program?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>The UW System Mandatory Employee Training Programs include Information Security Awareness, Sexual Harassment (Title IX), FERPA, and Mandated Reporter Training. Other training programs may occur outside of the UW System Mandatory Training programs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">2. When is the Mandatory Training Compliance assigned and due?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Mandatory Training is assigned to employees upon hire and every year on March 1. The following is the schedule for assignment and completion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Information Security Awareness \u2013 Completion required every year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FERPA \u2013 Completion required every three years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sexual Harassment (Title IX) \u2013 Completion required every three years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mandated Reporter \u2013 Completion required once (generally completed after program implementation or upon hire for new employees).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Training completion will be due 30 days after the date assigned; the 30-day clock will begin the date the notification of assignment is made to the employee.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">3. Those who do not meet the mandatory training requirements will be ineligible for the next installation of pay plan. Future year pay plans will reassess the mandatory training requirement for compliance and eligibility.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">8. How can I tell if I completed a course?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Please log into Canvas (https:\/\/uwm.edu\/canvas\/) and click the icon for Courses in the left sidebar. The Courses icon looks like a book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then click on the name of the mandatory training course to be taken to the course homepage. If you see the enroll in course button, you have not started the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the course homepage, click on Grades, on the left side side of the screen, near the sidebar menu. Who is required to complete the mandatory trainings?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>All employees must complete the mandatory training programs, including student hires. Exceptions to this are International and Advanced Opportunity Program Fellows. Waivers must be submitted for those who fall in this category.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">2. How do I handle the training for a person who is on leave?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>An employee who is currently on leave (based on HRS data) will not be assigned the training until they are returned from leave. For an employee who is assigned the training and subsequently goes on leave, their training assigning will need to be reset upon return from leave to reissue the training and the 30-day completion period.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">3. Can training be waived?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>In exceptional circumstances, the Title IX or Mandatory Reporter training can be waived for an employee. Waiver request for Title IX training can be directed to the Title IX Office at: titleix@uwm.edu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Waiver request for Mandatory Reporter training can be directed to: hr-training@uwm.edu. Employees need to work with their HR Business Partner if a waiver is being requested.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">4. How do I track employee course completion?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>HR Business Partners can provide managers with reports to view course completion for employee in their units.
