This is an annual opportunity for benefits eligible employees to enroll in or make changes to most benefits for the upcoming calendar year. Benefits Open Enrollment is the only time employees are eligible to make changes without a qualifying life event, such as a family or employment status change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-changes-made-during-open-enrollment-will-be-effective-january-1-2027\" class=\"wp-block-heading size-h4\">Changes made during open enrollment will be effective January 1, 2027.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the open enrollment period eligible employees may elect to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enroll in coverage if currently uninsured<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change health plans or other covered plans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change the level of coverage (i.e. Single to family)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cancel coverage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2027 benefits information is summarized on the Universities of Wisconsin Open Enrollment website. You will need a My Benefits account to access the benefits enrollment system called My Insurance Benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This is a <em>one-time<\/em> registration process that you must complete prior to enrolling in benefits. For instructions on how to create a My Benefits account, review <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.wisconsin.edu\/workday\/internal\/149907\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Set Up Account in My Benefits<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you have created a My Benefits account, My Insurance Benefits can be accessed two different ways:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log into <a href=\"https:\/\/myworkday.wisconsin.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Workday<\/a> then go to Personal &gt; Benefits and Pay &gt; Suggested Links &gt; My Benefits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Directly at <a href=\"https:\/\/etf.wi.gov\/my-benefits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"uwm-c-link--external\">ETF My Benefits<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once logged into My Insurance Benefits, review your current benefit elections and dependents and enroll for the 2027 plan year starting <strong>October 5 \u2013 October 30, 2026, at 4:30 P.M.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you add your spouse or dependent children to your benefits, you will be required to provide their full name, Social Security Number, date of birth, and documentation (marriage certificate for your spouse or birth certificates for your dependent children). Benefit elections could be delayed if dependent verifications are not received timely.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"has-alpha-channel-opacity uwm-c-hr--thick\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-2027-plan-changes-and-other-considerations\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">2027 Plan Changes and Other Considerations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h3 id=\"h-premium-rates\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Premium Rates<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Health plan premium rates for most employees will increase 5% for the 2027 plan year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col uwm-l-offset--1\">\n<h3 id=\"h-changes-to-non-high-deductible-health-plans-hdhps\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changes to Non-High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The medical deductible has increased from $250 to $400 for an individual and from $500 to $800 for a family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The medical OOPL has increased from $1,250 to $1,400 for an individual and from $2,500 to $2,800 for a family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency room copays will change from $75 to $125.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h3 id=\"h-changes-to-the-hdhp\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Changes to the HDHP<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The combined medical and pharmacy deductible has increased from $1,700 to $2,000 for an individual and from $3,400 to $4,000 for a family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The combined medical and pharmacy OOPL has increased from $2,500 to $3,500 for an individual and from $5,000 to $7,000 for a family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency room copays will change from $75 to $125.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col uwm-l-offset--1\">\n<h3 id=\"h-pharmacy-benefit-changes\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pharmacy Benefit Changes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Level 1 copays are increasing to a maximum of $10.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Level 2 copays are increasing to 25% with a $60 maximum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Level 3 copays are increasing to 45% with a $175 maximum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Level 4 copays are increasing to $60.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There will be a new level on the pharmacy formulary for anti-obesity medications (AOMs) only with a copay of $200.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The new OOPL for all pharmacy levels will be $1,325 for an individual, $2,650 for a family.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h3 id=\"h-wisconsin-retirement-system\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Wisconsin Retirement System<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Employee and employer contributions to the WRS will increase to 7.25% for most employees effective January 1, 2027.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col uwm-l-offset--1\">\n<h3 id=\"h-state-group-life-insurance-amp-other-changes\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>State Group Life Insurance &amp; Other Changes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Employee coverage premium will increase 5% for most age groups effective April 1, 2027.
