New and\/or vacant positions will be analyzed and titled prior to recruitment. This guideline explains the requirements, roles, and responsibilities in the vacant title review process. Excluded from this guideline are Faculty positions (ranked Faculty and Instructors) and titles in the Executive Job Family (e.g., Chancellor, Provost, Vice Chancellor, etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-process-considerations\">1. Process Considerations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Title determinations are made by Human Resources and are strictly based on the duties and functions of the position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A change in a position\u2019s duties may or may not predict a change in title.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Limited designations must be approved by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-roles-and-responsibilities-in-title-review-process\">2. Roles and Responsibilities in Title Review Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list uwm-c-list--upper-alpha\">\n<li>Hiring Manager determines duties for a new or vacated position.
