Internationals Without UWM Employee Health Insurance

UW System Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)

UW-Milwaukee works with Student Assurance Services (SAS) and Consolidated Health Plans (CHP) to contract for health insurance for international students and scholars. Participation in the UW-Milwaukee group health insurance policy through SAS is required for all UW-Milwaukee registered international students and scholars, international faculty and staff, and visiting international high school students, holding non-immigrant visas. The only exception to this is if an international has a position within UWM that qualifies for full time employee health insurance.

The SAS insurance plan provides continuous protection, 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world during the period of coverage for which the proper premium has been paid. To learn more about the group health insurance policy, please visit the Center for International Education or the Consolidated Health Plans website for UWM.
