Kim Christenson ERYT-500
Kim has been teaching since 2014 after receiving accreditation in yoga at both the 200 and 300 hour levels. She is a member of Yoga Alliance. Kim works for YogaOne, Fox Point and Cedarburg, and Tosa Yoga Center. Her corporate clients include UWM and Milwaukee Country Club. And she has several private clients as well. After almost 20 years of personal practice Kim knows that yoga builds strength, peace of mind and body awareness—exactly what is needed to live a long healthy life.
Karen Beres has been a licensed Zumba instructor since 2013 and is an Alumni Employee at UWM since 2013. Since she was little, she enjoys dancing many styles including ballroom, tap, ballet, and jazz. You can also find her teaching Zumba at geeky conventions and Gold’s Gym downtown. She would love to have you join her class—encouraging everyone to get up and move to some wonderful music!
As a Yoga and Pilates certified instructor, Alejandra started working on Restorative Yoga where she was able to help people slow down, connect mind and body, and improve flexibility while holding poses. She moved into other group exercise areas such as boot camps, barbell classes, etc. where she decided to return and attain my Pilates certification. Then, Alejandra started teaching flow Yoga and Pilates separately and found that by combining the two forms she was able to incorporate more strength aspects while keeping the flexibility portion as well. Currently, she is interested in going into Physical Therapy where she finds that PiYo has many benefits even with classes once per week. Some other interests lie in sports and personal training, and the medical-fitness combination.
Sarah has been practicing and studying yoga for over 25 years and teaching since 2000. Certified through the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago, she is influenced by the precise alignment of Iyengar Yoga, the breath and strength of Patabi Jois’ Ashtanga Yoga, and the flow and grace of vinyasa yoga. In 2004 she received her Certified Ayurveda Educator certificate and incorporates the ancient healing techniques of Ayurveda into her yoga practice and teachings. Sarah developed and led the Registered Yoga Teacher Training Program at Kanyakumari Ayurveda and Yoga Wellness Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 2004 until the Center closed in 2016. She has been teaching yoga to UWM students since 2002.
