Zumba Toning
Zumba Toning combines body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work infused with Zumba moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training fitness party. Students learn how to use lightweight toning sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all their target zones, including arms, abs, and thighs.
All ability levels welcome.

Fitness Class Instructors

Sylvia Banda
Sylvia has been at UWM for almost 10 years now, currently the Strategic Planning & Process Improvement Manager for Finance & Administrative Affairs. She has always found various ways to give back to the community, one of which was her most recent contributions driven by the COVID pandemic. With such a traumatic change that affected every one of us in one way or another, including herself that experienced a devastating loss of loved ones during that timeframe, she had to figure out a way to shine a positive light amidst all the sadness and depression. She ‘accidentally’ found an online Zumba Toning class and amazing instructor, now her mentor that lightened her spirit and brought that positive energy and excitement well needed in a world that was so broken at that time. She has since then devoted her time and energy to pay it forward. There are so many people hurting in this world today. Zumba Toning is one fun exciting way to introduce dance and muscle toning in our daily lives. Looking forward to dancing away with my colleagues.

Karen Beres
Karen Beres is a licensed Zumba instructor and UWM Alumni Employee since 2013. Since she was little, she enjoys dancing many styles including ballroom, tap, ballet, and jazz. She likes to bring fun and playful routines to her classes, mixing traditional Zumba music with pop songs and even some geeky routines sometimes! She is excited to be instructing at UWM, where she first got to experience the joys of Zumba and UW Fitness!

Keri Duce
Keri Duce is a certified yoga teacher and serves as UWM’s Director of External and Government Relations. She teaches vinyasa flow style yoga for all experience levels including prenatal, kids and seniors. Join her for a mind and body lunch break where you can stretch, strengthen and breathe during your lunch break. Don’t forget your mat or towel. Reach out with any questions.

Sara Luelloff
I have been working at UWM for over 15 years. I am currently the Fitness Program Director & Outreach Coordinator for University Recreation. I have been teaching fitness classes since I was a college student at UW-Stevens Point and taught kickboxing classes at the fitness center on campus. I love teaching Group Cycling, HIIT, and Total Body Strength classes. I strive to provide an environment that is positive and welcoming and a workout that is doable for ANY body. I will always provide plenty of exercise modifications. Besides fitness, I spend all of the rest of my time with my sweet 4-year old daughter Ellie and my husband Andrew. We love exploring all the kid friendly things that Milwaukee has to offer.
