UW System Annual Benefits Enrollment 2021

The Annual Benefits Enrollment Period is September 27 – October 22, 2021 (4:30 P.M.)

The Annual Benefits Enrollment (ABE) period is an annual opportunity for eligible employees to enroll in or make changes to most benefit plans for the upcoming calendar year. This is the only time you are eligible to make changes unless you have a qualifying life event, such as a family or employment change.

Changes made during this period will be effective January 1, 2022.

Benefits Walk-in Sessions

Benefits walk-in sessions allow you to speak directly with a benefits specialist. No appointment is required; employees can show up at any time during the session hours to ask questions and receive assistance.

All walk-in sessions will take place in Engelmann Hall Room 122.

  • September 30, 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
  • October 7, 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
  • October 14, 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
  • October 21, 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
  • October 22, 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

Virtual Benefits Presentation

A virtual benefits presentation discussing the changes for 2022 will be offered via Microsoft Teams. The live presentation will be on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.

Special Notice for Crafts Workers

Beginning January 1, 2022, crafts workers will be eligible to receive the employer share of the monthly premium for State Group Health Insurance.

Benefits Options for 2022

When You Are Ready To Enroll

Once you have made your benefits plan decisions, enroll through Self Service (September 27 – October 22, 2021, 4:30 P.M.). You will be required to provide the information below, so have this information handy.

  • Dependent names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth
  • Copy of health insurance card (if you have other health insurance coverage)
