New students need not apply for a contract via the apply website. Your application for University Housing is directly tied to your application for admission to UWM. It is very important to apply to UWM early if you wish to live in a University Housing facility . The university will begin accepting applications in mid-September each year.
Continuing UWM students may apply for housing by submitting the web form.
Spring Term Only Housing Requests
Any current UWM student can apply for Semester 2 (Spring) occupancy on our website or in person at our offices. New UWM students will be granted contract access for Spring Term once their admission to the school has been processed.
After You Apply
Once you have applied via your UWM application, we will send you an acknowledgment. Contracts are issued beginning in December, and released on a weekly basis to newly-admitted students once a week, through August. Once you have completed your contract, a charge for the housing pre-payment deposit in the amount of $100 will post to your UWM PAWS account.
Other Housing Options
UWM Neighborhood Housing
Admission to UWM does not guarantee on-campus housing. You are not guaranteed housing until you receive a contract, return it with a deposit, and receive an acceptance letter from University Housing. Some students may choose to live off-campus. This option is available to anyone who has already satisfied the terms of the UWM Residency Policy.
The Neighborhood Housing Office can help you find rentals and roommates.
University Housing accepts contracts and assigns rooms without regard to race, color, creed, or national origin. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee does not discriminate on the basis of sex in admission to any educational program or activity administered by this institution. The policy extends to employment as well as such programs and activities.
