Prof. Hilary Snow’s article “Visualizing the Genpei War in nineteenth-century Kaga” was just published in the Japan Forum journal. In it, she analyzes a nearly 50-foot long painting at a shrine near Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan as an example of historical and political story telling.
