Honors College alumnus, Ramon Escobar, has been a member of the U.S. diplomatic corps with the State Department since 2006. He is currently on the Colombia Desk where he coordinates the U.S. government’s bilateral cooperation on energy, economic, environment, and labor issues. Prior to the desk, Ramon worked in the Secretary of State’s office where he led travel advance teams for both Secretaries Clinton and Kerry. Ramon has also served in Baghdad, Iraq as an Energy Officer; London, England as the Staff Aide to the Ambassador; and Dhahran and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he was responsible for political, energy, and consular issues.
