The Center for Urban Population Health (CUPH) is a collaboration among the University of Wisconsin Medical School, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Aurora Health Care designed to address their missions to meet the health needs of Wisconsin and beyond through excellence in education, research, patient care, and service. CUPH has the following objectives in improving the health and well-being of Wisconsin:

  • Catalyze community-academic partnerships in improving the health and well-being of urban residents
  • Explore health disparities among various populations
  • Provide useful empirical data to inform health policy decisions on health promotion to urban populations
  • Promote the health of urban communities through education and service research
  • Examine the social, cultural and economic determinants of illness and health
