PhD Health Sciences student has research abstract selected

Miguel Tolentino, graduate student in the PhD in health sciences program, had his research abstract selected as one of the top five MS-related abstracts submitted to the Autumn Immunology Conference in Chicago in November. He is studying the effect of visible red and near infrared light on human immune cells isolated from persons with MS and healthy donors. Tolentino received a National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) Travel Award to help defray his costs of attending the meeting. Congratulations to Tolentino and his mentor Associate Dean and Professor Jeri-Anne Lyons, PhD, from the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
