Kinesiology students lead first ever Skills Test Fest

Undergraduate students from the Department of Kinesiology participated in the first ever Skills Test Fest event. The Fest was created in a student-designed and led-class project in the KIN430 Exercise Testing course taught by Clinical Associate Professor Laura Rooney, PhD, MS. Students in the class designed 10 different tests that 43 students and Klotsche Center members used to challenge their agility, balance, speed, reaction time, coordination and power.

The successful event also established a great working partnership with the UWM University Recreation (UREC) Fitness Program led by Director Sara Luelloff. Rooney explained, “Kinesiology undergraduate students and UREC fitness staff worked side-by-side to provide an educational, novel and fun exercise activity at UWM.”
