Moving Forward: Considerations for Nonprofit Re-engagement
Navigating the post-pandemic world will be a challenge for nonprofits throughout Wisconsin. The Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management, in collaboration with the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, has developed a set of guidelines to aid in this endeavor. Drawn from federal and state health and labor sources, Moving Forward: Considerations for Nonprofit Re-engagement provides guidelines intended as recommendations for nonprofit organizations as they return to the workplace, and re-engage with the communities they serve.
Should you have specific questions regarding legal or financial issues, please consult your own counsel and financial professionals. If not outlined in this document, we recommend that organizations consult guidelines from other sources in their respective fields or contact HBI for further advice.
General Recommendations
- Don’t panic. Generally, the disease is spread from person to person. If you have not been within six feet of someone who has it, your chances of contracting it are low.
- If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your health care provider before seeking care.
- Stay home: here are the CDC guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 if you’re sick as well as caring for yourself at home.
- Plan a video visit: consult with your insurance provider and/or local pharmacy, or CVS/Walgreens for pricing/options.
- Only call 911 if you are experiencing life-threatening symptoms or are having an emergency (make sure to tell them about your symptoms and travel history).
