As the leader of the Graduate School and an advocate for graduate students across campus\, Dean Porter welcomes the opportunity to connect directly with students and hear their perspectives. DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, October 1\, 2026 from 5-6 p.m. in the Lubar Entrepreneurial Center (LEC)\, room #107\nPresented as a part of the Graduate Student Wellness Series by UWM’s Graduate School and the Student Health and Wellness Center (SHAW) \nGraduate school can be rewarding\, but balancing coursework\, research\, work\, and life responsibilities can also be stressful. Take an hour to slow down and recharge with SHAW Licensed Professional Counselor Tom Garcia as he introduces mindfulness practices and guided meditation techniques designed to help reduce stress and anxiety and support overall well-being. Whether you are new to meditation or already have an established practice\, this session offers an opportunity to learn practical strategies you can incorporate into your daily routine. \nAll graduate students are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided\, and parking passes for UWM parking lots will be available for attendees. No registration is required.
