DESCRIPTION:Monday\, September 14 from 1-4 p.m.\, Meet at Outdoor Pursuits\nPresented as a part of the Graduate Student Wellness Series in conjunction with the UWM Outdoor Pursuits \nNew event this year! Join us while we explore Milwaukee by paddling down the Milwaukee River.  This three-hour event will start at Outdoor Pursuits\, drive you to the canoe launch\, take you on the river\, and then drive you back to the Outdoor Pursuits. \nSpace is limited. Registration is required and will open a week or 2 before the event. Parking passes for UWM parking lots will be provided. All graduate students are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, April 8th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Mitchell Hall\, Room 191\nPresented as a part of the Graduate Student Wellness Series by UWM’s Graduate School and the Art History department. \nThe UWM Graduate School\, Emile H. Mathis Art Gallery\, and Department of Art History invite graduate students to present at Art Speaks: A Graduate Symposium Across Disciplines. Share how your field interprets a single work of art: Salvador Dalí’s Cerberus\, the Dog of Hell (1960). No art history background required. Present a short (8–10 min) public-facing talk and join an interdisciplinary conversation across the humanities\, sciences\, social sciences\, arts\, and professional programs. Selected presenters receive a small honorarium. \nProposal deadline: Feb 20\, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. – Submit a cover letter\, 500-word proposal\, and CV/resumé to mathisartgallery@uwm.edu. Applicants will be notified by March 6.
