De-Escalation and Communication; A Parental Perspective

Facilitator bio: Earnest is a proud product of Milwaukee who attended Milwaukee Public Schools before graduating from UW-Milwaukee with his bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Earnest has extensive experience in the field of prevention including trauma informed care, crisis de-escalation, program development and facilitation. Earnest is most excited to have returned “home” to the UW-Milwaukee campus and share is community experiences with violence prevention and awareness. 

 

Workshop Description: “It’s not about what you say, but how you say what you say.” This parent session is designed to define, analyze, and practice healthy communication skills. Most instances of conflict begin with some sort of communication, so it becomes very important that communication is done intentionally and with purpose. This workshop will be delivered from a parental perspective.
