State relations have never been more important to UWM. You can make a difference. Talk to your legislators about important priorities. Share the UWM story with your friends and neighbors.

UWM receives some of its funding through the state’s biennial budget process. This support helps UWM grow as a major research institution. It also helps UWM serve Wisconsin students.

UWM provides an affordable, world-class education to 23,104 students who contribute to the state’s health, vibrancy and economic growth. These students help the state stay healthy, vibrant and economically strong. UWM trains many architects, engineers, business leaders, teachers, nurses and health workers. In the last five years, more than 80% of our 218,647 alumni have remained in Wisconsin.

Our research faculty work with big companies like Rockwell Automation and Northwestern Mutual. They also work with startups and nonprofits. Together, they create new knowledge and bring discoveries to market. Investment in UWM is an investment in Wisconsin’s future.
