Seven Beauties by Lina Wertmuller

Professor Robin Pickering-Iazzi will introduce the movie, Seven Beauties by Lina Wertmuller – the first woman in the world to be nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Director – on September 23 at 5:00pm/UWM Union Cinema.

A dark comedy featuring plenty of political satire and social critiques, Seven Beauties is the tale of one Pasqualino Frafuso, a man who goes from being a petty thief, to murder, to Nazi army deserter all in one film. Beautifully original, see the film that earned Lina Wertmuller the honor of being the first woman in the world to be nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Director.
