Flores Family Helps Student Pursue Teaching Dreams
Josefina Regalado-Valdes held down a full-time job while pursuing her degree in the School of Education. Thanks to the Salomón H. Flores Memorial Scholarship, she was able to work less and keep a better balance in her life. The scholarship was given by the Flores family in memory of Associate Professor Emeritus Salomón H. Flores, who retired after 24 years of service to the School of Education. Flores was the son of Mexican immigrant parents and an advocate for bilingual education.
