Thousands have lost jobs due to COVID-19, making it difficult if not impossible for them to pay rent, buy food and stay in school. The Chancellor’s Student Success Fund will provide a wide range of emergency financial assistance, including scholarships to keep students on the path to success. Please consider a gift to help UWM’s students in crisis

Our Campaign Priorities:

    Student Success

THIS IS WHY: The UWM Libraries provide students from the School of Information Studies with the experience and skills they need to become tomorrow’s leaders in the information profession. The Student Internship Fund provides students with practical experience in areas such as User Services, Archives, Special Collections, the American Geographical Society Library, or the Music Library. Support for post-degree residencies allows our newly graduated professionals to participate as full members of one of our library departments.

    Research Excellence

THIS IS WHY: Recently ranked among the nation’s top 115 research universities, UWM boasts an exceptional community of scholars. Support for research resources will help UWM maintain this status by allowing us to keep pace with the expansion of knowledge. Gifts to our unique collections, such as the American Geographical Society Library and our Archives and Special Collections, help us advance our position as keepers of knowledge for future generations.

    Community Engagement

THIS IS WHY: The UWM Libraries are open literally and virtually to southeastern Wisconsin and the world. Support for innovation in community outreach helps us pursue initiatives, like inspiring high school students to consider college through our partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools. Through lectures and programs, we connect world-renowned speakers with the community. Support for the American Geographical Society Library Research Fellowships allow scholars from around the world to delve into our vast and distinguished collections.

I believe the Golda Meir Library is the intellectual hub of UWM, and I have been excited about helping this crucial resource thrive.
