Our Campaign Priorities:

    Student Success

THIS IS WHY: Scholarship support is the top priority of our campaign. Through this campaign, we aim to double the Peck School’s scholarship funds and raise our minimum scholarship level to 20 percent of tuition, which is the national average. Scholarships help the Peck School compete with other private and public arts schools around the nation that offer sizable financial support to our region’s most artistically talented students. Funds for study abroad and career development help us introduce cultural and social diversity to our students while giving them real-world insight into their chosen field.

    Research Excellence

THIS IS WHY: Research at the Peck School of the Arts takes many forms. Our faculty is comprised of artist-teachers who practice and refine their craft professionally outside of the classroom. Professorships help us attract and retain nationally and internationally acclaimed faculty to our school. Faculty fellowships, awarded to promising faculty members or guest artists, allow our students to learn from internationally known artists, performers, scholars, and teachers. Through graduate student fellowships, MFA candidates can gain valuable teaching and technical experience.

    Community Engagement

THIS IS WHY: Because arts is meant to be experienced and enjoyed, the Peck School of the Arts has developed a robust, symbiotic relationship with the surrounding community. Sponsorship of events helps us share the work of our students, faculty, and alumni through the more than 350 public performances, exhibitions, and screenings presented by the Peck School each year. Support for the renovation and construction of venues allows us to maintain performance and exhibition spaces as well as making essential updates to technology. Support for internships, professional mentoring, and artistic collaboration with Milwaukee’s professional arts organizations provides students with real-world experience as they prepare for their careers.

My education laid the groundwork for the entrepreneurial and artistic mentality I needed to navigate the complex early years of creating Milwaukee Film and the dynamic growth period we are undergoing right now as Milwaukee Film establishes itself nationally as a leading film-culture nonprofit.
