Thomas Hooyer
Thomas S. Hooyer Associate Professor (1963–2016)

Dr. Thomas S. Hooyer, 53, passed away on May 4, 2016, following a battle with ALS. He was an Associate Professor of Geosciences at UW-Milwaukee where he concentrated his research on glacier erosion, basal till deformation beneath ice sheets, and the Quaternary history of Wisconsin. A memorial fund was set up in his name to help graduate students pay the costs of doing research both domestically and internationally.
