The Water Equipment and Policy Center serves as a catalyst for synergizing the region’s assets to create the next generation of products and processes that will advance the water industry. WEP’s industry members direct world-renowned university scientists and their teams of graduate students and postdocs to pursue promising research that addresses their most important business challenges. Member companies benefit from access to royalty-free licensing of breakthrough technologies that drive innovation and competitive advantages.
Funded by the National Science Foundation as an Industry/University Collaborative Research Center, this $2.75 million initiative connects research partners from UWM, Marquette University and local water industry companies. WEP scientists have expertise in nanomaterials, metallurgy, superhydrophobic surfaces, self-healing materials, polymers, sensors, and microbial fuel cells, among other areas.
