Freshwater Colloquium: Aquaculture Research at Demonstration Facility

Emma Hauser will present “Aquaculture Research at the Northern Aquaculture Demonstration Facility” as part of the School of Freshwater Sciences spring colloquium. The theme of this semester’s colloquium is Trends in Aquaculture: Meeting the Challenge of Feeding a Changing World.

Hauser is the aquaculture outreach specialist for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Northern Aquaculture Demonstration Facility (UWSP NADF) in collaboration with Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute. Her primary role is to share, demonstrate and educate others about sustainable aquaculture research, technologies, species and systems based on the work being done at UWSP NADF. She previously worked as an aquaculture technician, gaining experience and learning best practices for fish husbandry. She has worked as a project coordinator for the Alliance for the Great Lakes, research assistant for UW-Eau Claire at Gerace Research Center, and has led educational programs for various groups
