Freshwater Colloquium: Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance: Addressing Phosphorus and Sediment Loadings through Partnerships
October 21 @ 3:00 pm - 3:50 pm
Rick Fox and Jessica Schultz will present “Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance: Addressing Phosphorus and Sediment Loadings through Partnerships” as part of the School of Freshwater Sciences Fall colloquium.
Jessica Schultz is the Executive Director of the Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance. Over the past 15 years, Jessica has worked with the wastewater, urban stormwater and agriculture sectors to advance a wholistic approach to watershed management.
Rick Fox is a semi-retired environmental scientist with Ramboll (formerly NRT). Shortly after relocating to the SE shore of Lake Winnebago in 2020, Rick became involved in addressing agricultural runoff issues in the Town of Calumet as co-chair of the town’s Runoff Reduction Committee. Rick has forged a key partnership with Fox-Wolf that has led to successes in reducing runoff volumes and improving water quality.
Jessica and Rick will discuss efforts coordinated by the Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance to advance watershed recovery, reduce phosphorus and sediment loading from the landscape and improve the health of Lake Winnebago, the bay of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. Their talk will provide an overview of conservation efforts across the Fox-Wolf Basin and highlight work advanced by the Town of Calumet.
Please join us. Light refreshments will be provided.
This presentation is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public.
Fall 2024 Colloquium Series schedule. The Colloquium series creates a platform where students, faculty, and scientists discuss emergent issues related to freshwater science research. Invited speakers present specific topics of their research, as well as policy, commercial, and industrial experiences. Everyone is welcome.
