Center for Water Policy Talks about Protecting Milwaukee’s Lakebeds on WUWM

Milwaukee’s lakefront is unique, not only in its beauty, but because much of it is actually filled lakebed.

WUWM Environmental Reporter Susan Bence interviewed Melissa Scanlan, director of the Center for Water Policy, and Sarah Martinez, water quality specialist, about the need to protect Milwaukee’s Fresh Coast and how the Public Trust Doctrine does just that. Residents currently have the opportunity to weigh in on what one day could become another public space along Milwaukee’s Fresh Coast, thanks to a years’ long clean up of the Milwaukee estuary.
