Les statues meurent aussi (Statues Die Too)
Alain Resnais / Chris Marker, DCP (2018), 30 min
France, 1953 (French)

Commissioned in 1950 by Présence Africaine to document African art in Western art museums, the film’s intent switched to a critique of European museographic practices. Banned in France for 15 years for its anti-colonial stance and attacks on white racism, it was first screened in 1968.
