Exceptions can be made for those enrolled in eligible certificate programs or those taking prerequisite courses for admission to a UWM graduate degree or certification program. In both cases, students must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit the <strong>Non Degree Student Verification Form<\/strong>&nbsp;to the school or college administering the program.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Please Note! We use a new form every year!!<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/finances\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/82\/2024\/11\/2025-26-Non-Degree-Enrollment-Verification-Form-fillable.pdf\">this form<\/a> if you plan to attend during the <strong>2025-26 <\/strong>school year. The <strong>Summer 2026<\/strong> term is part of the <strong>2025-26<\/strong> school year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/finances\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/82\/2025\/11\/2026-27-Non-Degree-Enrollment-Verification-Form-Fillable-Accessbile.pdf\">this form<\/a> if you plan to attend during the <strong>2026-27 <\/strong>school year. The <strong>Summer 202<\/strong>7 term is part of the <strong>2026-27<\/strong> school year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The school or college then documents enrollment in an eligible category on the form and submits it to Student Financial Services  as early as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students must enroll in at least 6 credits which must be documented on the Non-Degree Student Verification Form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students completing prerequisites have a maximum of 12 consecutive months of eligibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second-degree students, students pursuing a teaching certification, and non-degree students who are eligible for financial aid, will only be offered Federal Direct Loan assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Non-Degree Students without a bachelor&#8217;s degree are NOT eligible for financial aid<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-eligible-certificate-programs\">Eligible Certificate Programs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students enrolled in these certificate programs <strong>may be eligible<\/strong>&nbsp;for Title IV Federal Student Financial Aid (Loans) if they meet other eligibility requirements. A non-degree enrollment verification form is not required for students in these programs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-undergraduate-level\">Undergraduate Level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Therapeutic Recreation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>School Librarianship (this is eligible due to students earning initial licensure in school librarianship)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-graduate-level\">Graduate Level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Geographic Information Systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nonprofit Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rhetorical Leadership<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students who are not accepted into a degree-granting program are classified as Non-Degree Students.&nbsp; These students are generally not eligible for financial aid.
