There are two species here that are adorned with those lovely double rings on the antennal segments \u2013&nbsp;<em>T. femoratus<\/em>&nbsp;(which has red on its legs, unless it doesn\u2019t), and&nbsp;<em>T. annulatus<\/em>, sometimes called the Ringed milkweed beetle.The BugLady would happily call this&nbsp;<em>T. annulatus<\/em>&nbsp;based on appearance and habitat (dry, sandy areas), but it was sitting on Common milkweed, which is not listed as one of&nbsp;<em>annulatus\u2019s<\/em>&nbsp;food plants. Is the BugLady overthinking this?&nbsp;Probably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"alignleft uwm-c-img--left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/field-station\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/380\/2025\/05\/bluet-tule21-2rz.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption><strong>Tule bluet damselfly<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tule bluet damselfly<\/strong><br>With a bunch of water mite nymphs on its abdomen.&nbsp;The BugLady knows who this is, but she\u2019s written biographies of a number of other bluets, and the details of their life histories don\u2019t vary a lot.&nbsp;Besides, she promised that she would not march methodically through the species lists of Wisconsin dragonflies and damselflies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>So many wasps!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure (they\u2019re a big and important family) but first she needs to figure out which of her wasp pictures&nbsp;<em>are<\/em>&nbsp;braconids, because they can look similar to Ichneumon wasps (an even bigger family).&nbsp;This one seems to be ovipositing in the flower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"has-alpha-channel-opacity uwm-u-clear\" \/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery
