Student Internships In The Virtual Space
The Department of African and African Diaspora Studies, Global & International Studies, and the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at UW-Milwaukee all want to support students in understanding the great opportunities that exist for remote work experiences and tips for success.
The departments are sponsoring a pair of webinars where students will learn about advantages of virtual internships and ask key questions as they review their opportunities for internship placements.
The first session on Nov. 13 will explore why a remote internship may be the perfect fit for students this spring or summer, as well as next year.
The second session on Nov. 20 will connect students with potential employers from a variety of fields, including MKE Film and Sixteenth Street Community Health Center, both of whom are looking for part-time student interns and hear the perspectives of past interns on working remotely.
Both webinars will begin at noon and will be hosted on Zoom.
