Great Events Scheduled To Start The School Year

A number of great events are on the calendar to help your student get the school year started on the right foot.

First up is Fall Welcome, a series of events and activities designed to help your student meet new friends, explore the campus and see all that UW-Milwaukee has to offer. Whether this is their first week or even their fourth year at UWM, Fall Welcome offers something for everyone. They won’t want to miss any of the events, so keep track of what’s happening with the Fall Welcome calendar. The calendar will be updated as the summer progresses

Transfer and Adult Student Welcome Day in the Wisconsin Room of the UWM Union is a perfect opportunity for students to get personal guidance. Additional information on being a commuter, transfer or adult student, including dates and times for orientation and the welcome day, is available through the Student Success Center.

Panther Academic Welcome Day will help your students start off on the right academic foot. Aug. 30 is a required day for new students to attend this extended orientation.

One big part of Fall Welcome is Panther Fest, scheduled for Fri. Sept. 6. Make sure your student is making plans now to stay on campus for the weekend to enjoy the show.

The Student Involvement Fair also happens in early September. More information on that and all of the great opportunities to get involved on campus is available here.

Then there is Family Weekend. That big day is set for Oct. 12 and coincides with the Alumni Association Panther Prowl. Families can already register for Family Weekend.

Homecoming is scheduled for November and includes lots of great activities, including a Panther basketball game at the UWM Panther Arena. Stay tuned for more information.
