Fall 2021 Greetings From The Writing Center

Fall 2021 Greetings From The Writing Center

UWM’s Writing Center is open and ready to assist students this semester and beyond.

The Writing Center news?

  • In-person tutoring has returned in Curtin 127 (as health guidelines allow)
  • Online tutoring remains available
  • A new screen sharing feature should make it easier than ever for writers to share work.
  • The Library East Wing satellite location remains closed.

Writers can still easily make their own 30 or 60 min appointments online, or simply walk into Curtin 127 to see if a tutor is immediately available. Synchronous online tutoring with audio/video or texting options is available during all open hours including evenings and weekends. To make appointments and to see additional “Resources” for undergrads, grad students and faculty:   www.writingcenter.uwm.edu.

Fall 2021 Hours

  • Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Thursday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Friday 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Sunday 6 p.m.-10 p.m.

In addition to offering tutoring sessions, our website offers a range of good Resources for all writers and some specifically for faculty and graduate students, e.g., faculty consultations for grad students http://www4.uwm.edu/writingcenter/grad-resources.cfm .

Every writer needs a reader.
A one-on-one, confidential conversation with a well-qualified tutor in our welcoming and impartial atmosphere can benefit any writer, no matter the task, discipline, or skill level.  In fact, nearly 50% of writers who visit are advanced undergrads, grad students, faculty, and staff from across schools and majors.
