Fall 2021 Greetings From The Writing Center
UWM’s Writing Center is open and ready to assist students this semester and beyond.
The Writing Center news?
- In-person tutoring has returned in Curtin 127 (as health guidelines allow)
- Online tutoring remains available
- A new screen sharing feature should make it easier than ever for writers to share work.
- The Library East Wing satellite location remains closed.
Writers can still easily make their own 30 or 60 min appointments online, or simply walk into Curtin 127 to see if a tutor is immediately available. Synchronous online tutoring with audio/video or texting options is available during all open hours including evenings and weekends. To make appointments and to see additional “Resources” for undergrads, grad students and faculty: www.writingcenter.uwm.edu.
Fall 2021 Hours
- Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Thursday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Friday 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Sunday 6 p.m.-10 p.m.
In addition to offering tutoring sessions, our website offers a range of good Resources for all writers and some specifically for faculty and graduate students, e.g., faculty consultations for grad students http://www4.uwm.edu/writingcenter/grad-resources.cfm .
Every writer needs a reader.
A one-on-one, confidential conversation with a well-qualified tutor in our welcoming and impartial atmosphere can benefit any writer, no matter the task, discipline, or skill level. In fact, nearly 50% of writers who visit are advanced undergrads, grad students, faculty, and staff from across schools and majors.
