EDPSY 110 Helps Your Student Choose And Use Their Major

Students have often express concerns with choosing a major and/or are unsure how to use their major once they have graduated. The Educational Psychology Department offers a course to help students with these concerns.

EDPSY 110 is a course that focuses on helping students choose a major at UWM, while also teaching them how to utilize this major once they have graduated. The course focuses on exploring students’ interests, abilities, goals, and skills and translating this to a major and career. In addition, this course teaches students which career opportunities are available to them based on their major and provides students with opportunities to build connections in the community. This course has years of research supporting the efficacy of this theory based approach.

Currently, we offer six sections of EdPsy 110. Five of these sections started at the beginning of the semester and meet once a week for 50 minutes. But, the last section starts October 22 and meets Tuesdays from 2pm-3:40pm.

If your student is interested in this course, they can still enroll this Fall semester! If interested, students can log onto PAWS and enroll before October 22. The course will also be offered Spring 2019!
