COVID-19 Training, Self-Reporting
UWM will be closely monitoring any potential coronavirus outbreaks on campus. To assist with that, any students who test positive for COVID-19 or have been diagnosed as infected based on their symptoms are expected to report that to the university. To do so, fill out the COVID-19 reporting form on the Dean of Students Office website.
Self-reporting will help UWM get the information, assistance and resources needed to students. It will also help protect the campus community by notifying people identified as close contacts, and will allow the university to clean areas where an infected student or staff member may have been.
Instructors will be notified so that they can work with students on flexibility with coursework as necessary. For students living on campus, University Housing will be notified so they can work with impacted students.
Classmates for in-person courses will be notified that someone in class has tested positive or been diagnosed with COVID-19, but a name will not be disclosed.
Students Must Complete Training And Pledge
All students must complete training and a pledge regarding COVID-19. (Faculty and staff will do the same.) The training covers symptoms, rules about face coverings and distancing, and what to do if you’re sick. At the end of training, students are required to complete a pledge, which is a commitment to abide by the rules and expectations to help keep us all safe.
The training and pledge must be completed by the first day of class. To do the training, students should visit their Canvas page and complete the items in the Covid-19 Training-Students course.
