Police Department
The UW-Milwaukee Police Department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is staffed by 34 sworn law enforcement officers and 11 civilian staff members who are dedicated to serving the needs of the university community. Officers patrol the campus and surrounding area on foot, bicycle, and squad. Officers are also trained in first aid, CPR, and AED and Narcan administration. Located on the ground floor of the West Tower in the Sandburg Residence Halls, the department is easily accessible to campus. The police department offers other services such as self-defense training, safety escorts, campus lost and found vehicle lockout and jumpstarts, and various community policing programs.

Prescription Drug Drop Box
Students may safely dispose of their unneeded prescription medications at the prescription drug drop box located at the UWM Police Department at 3410 N. Maryland Ave.

RAVE Guardian
RAVE Mobile Technology is the emergency communications platform that UWM uses to send emergency alerts by email, text, social media and website connection. RAVE Guardian is a safety app, through RAVE Mobile Technology, that students, staff, and faculty can use to enhance their safety while at UWM. The RAVE Guardian app, which can be downloaded for free from Apple or Android stores allows users to interact with the police department through texting, confidential tips, location sharing, a call directory, and a safety/resource content portal.
