Marketing Partnerships

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee maintains marketing partnerships with a number of professional sports teams and other sports-related organizations in the Milwaukee area. These partnerships increase the branding and visibility for UWM in the community, allow the University to support a variety of local efforts and create opportunities for UWM to promote and engage in a variety of special events for its faculty, staff, students, families, alumni and more.

The Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, play their games at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. UWM’s partnership with the team includes a sponsorship agreement, ticket deals and more. Team owner Harris Turer and team president Jon Greenberg are both UWM alums.

UWM has been a partner with the Brewers since the opening of Miller Park. The University’s signage above the right-field bullpen has been recognizable on television broadcasts and highlight-shows for more than 15 years, providing great visibility. UWM also executes a number of on-field recognition promotions during the course of the baseball season, while the Panther baseball team plays an annual game at Miller Park while also facing the Brewers in an exhibition game in Arizona. The Brewers also regularly offer ticket discounts to UWM faculty, staff, students, families and alumni.

UWM’s partnership with the Bucks gives the University a presence with the city’s NBA franchise and in the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The agreement currently includes radio and website advertising, a recruiting outreach program targeting to high school groups attending games and an annual UWM Night.

UWM’s a proud supporter of the Milwaukee Kickers, highlighted by a strong presence at the Uihlein Soccer Park.

UWM is a continuing partner with ROC Ventures, formerly known as MKE Sports. ROC Ventures controls the Milwaukee Wave, an indoor soccer team that plays at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The partnership also includes signage at The Rock in Franklin.

UWM purchased the naming rights to the Wisconsin Center District’s downtown arena in 2014, officially branding it the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The agreement includes prominent signage both internally an externally, an agreement for the Panther men’s basketball team to play home games at the arena, opportunities to host additional events in the facility (including graduation) and other benefits.
