Community Marketing Partnerships

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee maintains marketing partnerships with a number of professional sports teams and community organizations in the Milwaukee area. These partnerships increase the branding and visibility for UWM in the community, allow the University to support a variety of local efforts and create opportunities for UWM to promote and engage in a variety of special events for its faculty, staff, students, families, alumni and more. The partnerships are also a part of UWM’s overall student recruitment marketing efforts, with its brand placed in front of millions of community members and visitors every year.

Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed. UWM partners on a learning space on site at Junior Achievement that exposes students to college and the careers they could pursue. UWM’s Lubar School of Business shares in the partnership, which also allows for outreach to educators and administrators.

The Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, play their games at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. UWM’s partnership with the team includes a sponsorship agreement, ticket deals and more. UWM’s name is also on Roscoe and Pounce’s Interactive Zone. Team owner Harris Turer and team president Jon Greenberg are both UWM alums.

UWM has been a partner with the Brewers since the opening of Miller Park, which is now American Family Field. The University’s signage above the right-field bullpen has been recognizable on television broadcasts and highlight-shows for almost 20 years, providing great visibility. UWM also executes a number of on-field recognition promotions during the course of the baseball season. Plus, the Brewers regularly offer ticket discounts to UWM faculty, staff, students, families and alumni.

UWM’s a proud supporter of the Milwaukee Kickers, highlighted by a strong presence at the Uihlein Soccer Park. UWM’s signage is present on both indoor fields and at the main outdoor fields.

UWM partnership with ROC Ventures includes signage at youth tournament baseball fields and promotional activation at Milwaukee Milkmen games. UWM’s baseball team also plays home games at Franklin Field.

UWM purchased the naming rights to the Wisconsin Center District’s downtown arena in 2014, officially branding it the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The agreement includes prominent signage both internally an externally, an agreement for the Panther men’s basketball team to play home games at the arena, opportunities to host additional events in the facility (including graduation) and other benefits.

WisPolitics.com has been providing in-depth coverage of Wisconsin politics since 2000, and now regularly reaches more than 36,000 unique individual users each month — and sometimes more than 100,000 unique visitors during peak months. As a partner, UWM helps provide in-person and virtual programming in both Milwaukee and Madison while engaging with community and political leaders and influencers.

Community Events

UWM partners with numerous special events and annual festivals across southeast Wisconsin. Partnerships included UWM’s new sponsorship of the Giant Slide at the Wisconsin State Fair, Show Your College Pride Day at Summerfest and the Roberto Hernandez Center’s presence at Mexican Fiesta.
