Great coffee and interesting conversation are the two main components of Scholar Sip – a free community forum held one Thursday of each month. Students, faculty and students are welcome to the 3:30 P.M-4:30 P.M. informal forum, held in the library presentation room, on the second floor of the UWM at Washington County campus in West Bend.
Poverty & Hygiene with Meagan Johnson, Founder and Executive Director, Milwaukee Diaper Mission
September 23, 3:30-4:30pm.
One in three US families struggle to afford diapers. Meagan and her cousin, Jessica, discovered that Milwaukee did not have a free-standing diaper bank. In 2020, they founded the Milwaukee Diaper Bank to help those who struggle with hygiene needs. Meagan will discuss how hygiene is affected by poverty, and how they decided to make a difference.
