*CANCELED* Improv Workshop: Round 2
- April 1 - May 20, 2021
- Online, Milwaukee, WI, United States
- Peck School of the Arts
April 1-May 20, 2021
This workshop is designed to give the participants opportunities to have fun while exploring the world of improvisational theatre games. You will gain experience in improvisation by working as a team, growing your skills in games together. Through these team-building techniques, you will be encouraged to trust your instincts and let your creativity run wild. A focus on positive reaction and support of all ideas is the basis of good improv; nothing happens until somebody says “yes.” This 8-week workshop will introduce or refresh the basics of improv. You will be guided through warm-ups, exercises, and games used by theatre and improv companies all over the world. A professional improvisor with over 20 years of experience will coach you through these techniques. At the end of the 8-week workshop, everyone will participate in a performance showcasing the benefits of teamwork and spontaneity gained through collectively sharing, listening, and reacting. Participants must be 18 years or older by the start of the session. UWM students are encouraged to register for Theatre 111 (as a for-credit course) instead of this non-credit workshop.
