DESCRIPTION:The exhibition features research by UWM undergraduate art history students from the Fall 2024 colloquium taught by Associate Professor Richard Leson. The paintings in this exhibit raise questions about authenticity\, value and the ethical implications of traditional art-historical work. \nDemoted opens in the Mathis Art Gallery\, on the first floor of Mitchell Hall\, on Thursday\, March 13\, with an opening reception from 5-7 p.m. featuring remarks from undergraduate co-curators at 5:30 p.m. Exhibition runs through May 1. The gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Gallery and events are free.

SUMMARY:Harrington Beach Overnight Bike Trip
DESCRIPTION:Trip Dates: May 3\, 8 a.m. departure — May 4\, 1 p.m. return to campus \nThere’s something adventurous about biking to a state park! Join Outdoor Pursuits as we bike from campus\, along the Oak Leaf trail system\, all the way to Harrington Beach State Park on Lake Michigan’s shoreline. This bike ride is 38 miles (61 km) and requires you to know how to ride a bike. The best part of this ride is that you don’t have to carry your camping equipment. We’ll drive it to the state park for you so it’s there when you arrive. All transportation\, bikes\, camping equipment\, meals\, tent lodging and instruction is provided. \nFriday: Bike from UWM to Harrington Beach\, eat dinner and camp\nSaturday: Explore the state park\, drive back to UWM \nRegistration closes April 25. This trip will have a mandatory pre-trip meeting with all participants and trip leaders the week of the trip at Outdoor Pursuits.
