SUMMARY:Sport & Recreation Spring 2024 Enrollment
DESCRIPTION:Think spring! Register early in PAWS to save a seat. \nLearn new skills and reduce stress with UWM Sport & Rec classes in scuba\, soccer\, bowling\, badminton\, Brazilian jiu-jitsu\, kickboxing\, meditation\, yoga and more. \nSessions for 1- and 2-credit courses are 16 weeks and eight weeks. Eight-week sessions start in January and March. \nCheck out the Spring 2024 Course Catalog. Register at least two to three weeks before classes start to save a seat. \nClasses are offered in person\, online and in a hybrid format. Undergraduate students pay no additional tuition if total credits are between 12 and 18\, and credits are applied toward GPA. \nFind more details and course catalogs at Sport & Rec’s website. SUMMARY:Free Pop-up Candlelight Yoga Class
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an all-level\, rejuvenating and fun candlelight pop-up yoga class\, sponsored by UWM Sport and Recreation. \nMove your body slowly and with intention by candlelight! \nThis one-hour in-person yoga class will strengthen and stretch your entire body\, with a focus on “moon salutations” to embrace the evening and prepare for nighttime rest. All levels of yoga students are welcome. \nBring a yoga mat or towel and a bottle of water. We will have a limited number of mats available. \nFree event for UWM students. \nPre-registration is preferred (to help with planning) by Monday\, Jan. 22. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in and complete liability and photo release waivers. \nAll participants will be entered into a drawing to win a Brewers yoga bag. \nABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR\nSarah Filzen has been practicing and studying yoga for close to 30 years and teaching since 2000. She is certified through the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago and holds advanced certification from the Asheville Yoga Center in North Carolina. Sarah is registered with Yoga Alliance as an e-RYT 500 teacher as well as a YACEP (Continuing Education Provider). Besides instructing yoga at UWM\, Sarah is the general manager of Healium Hot Yoga and teaches multiple weekly classes there\, hosts workshops and special events\, and directs its Yoga Teacher Training program. \nFor more information\, or to request accommodations\, please email cynthiaa@uwm.edu or call 414-977-7688.
