DESCRIPTION:The UWM Police Department is sponsoring an art contest from Feb. 2-28. Simply color one of the pre-drawn coloring pages or choose one of our K9 Ezmae inspiration pictures to draw or design a work of art. Find the coloring pages on the UWMPD’s Instagram page in February. \nTurn in your masterpiece to the front desk in the lobby of the UWM Police Department\, 3351 W. Downer Ave.\, Milwaukee. \nOur K9 handler will pick a winner in every category. The winners will get a meet-and-greet with K9 Ezmae\, have their artwork displayed in the UWM PD lobby and take home a K9 swag prize! \nFor questions\, contact Lead Dispatcher Kristine Murphy at murph365@uwm.edu.

DESCRIPTION:Join the UWM Department of African and African Diaspora Studies when the AADS Seminar Series hosts Derrick Harriell\, PhD\, on Feb. 27\, from 1-2 pm in Mitchell Hall\, Room 206. UWM through and through: Derrick Harriell traces his professional experience as a UWM alum and now a UWM professor. \nThe conversation will cover the creative projects that ultimately led him back home\, including his most recent project\, co-authored with the rapper 2 Chainz. Harriell is from Milwaukee and is the author of four collections of poetry\, including “Ropes\,” winner of the Mississippi Arts and Letters Poetry Book of the Year award.
