Denise joined UWM’s Office of Equity/Diversity Services in August of 2017. Serving as the Program Assistant, Denise is responsible for assisting EDS with monitoring federal state law and UW-System’s policies to support the implementation of the affirmative action plan and further anti-discrimination objectives. Denise provides administrative support for the office and its professional staff. She takes part in gathering information while also updating and maintaining data from various areas within UWM and the entire UW-System.
Denise’s background and experiences are quite diverse, including over 20 years of experience working with a large breadth of diverse employees and individuals. Prior to coming to UWM, Denise spent over a decade working as the facilitator and presenter for the annual retirement session and open enrollment for Milwaukee County. Prior to working for the county, she managed preferred clients’ accounts for Strong Investments. Denise attended graduate school at Cardinal Stritch University, receiving her MBA in 2013 and MHA in 2015 (Summa Cum Laude).
