Posoh, mawaw new weyak (“hello everyone” in the Menominee language) from Shawna Jacobs. She is an enrolled member of the Lac Courte Oreilles band of Ojibwe. Shawna is blessed by the creator to be both Ojibwe and Menominee. Shawna works as the Menominee Language & Culture Apprentice at the Indian Community School. Prior to her current position, Shawna was a school bus driver in Milwaukee from 2010-2018 where she loved transporting children to schools but decided she wanted to be in the classroom. Shawna is anxious and excited to begin her higher education at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee!
