K&R Research Symposium: Where Do I Belong?

Thursday, April 24 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

We are honored to invite community, staff, and faculty to join us for a day of research presentations at our Indigenous Kindship and Responsibility Research Symposium. This event will showcase the research conducted by our scholars throughout the semester. Light refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Slater is a Junior History Major, specifically interested in American Indian history. Their project titled “Where Do I Belong”, is an autoethnographic analysis of the annihilation, assimilation, and self-determination eras of Indigenous peoples in the US. Synthesizing both by their own lived experience as well as research done previously within their academics in the field of contemporary Indigenous ethnography, the research done for, “Where Do I Belong?” seeks to answer the burning question in the title. Along with answering the question, the project also seeks to confront some complicated issues affecting modern Indigeneity.
