EAP 90 – IELTS Preparation: Reading and Writing (online)
Prerequisite: Open to students with English speaking and listening abilities at the CEFR level of B1 and higher.
In this eight-week, elective, online course, students will become more familiar with the IELTS English proficiency test, which is accepted as proof of English ability by UWM and thousands of universities around the world. Students will learn about the format of the test, the types of questions they will have to answer, and common topics that appear on the test. Students will also do authentic IELTS with reading and writing exercises taken from past IELTS exams. This course will present test-taking tips and strategies along with personalized feedback on their performance on the writing sections of the test to help students perform their best on their next IELTS exam. This course lasts eight weeks, with approximately three hours of study activities each week. All lessons are online and may be taken from anywhere in the world at times that are convenient for any schedule. Students must have a computer with a microphone (built-in mic is OK), reliable internet access, and access to a printer (either at home or at a library or computer lab). A webcam and headphones are highly recommended, but not required.
