How low is low enough?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This research seminar is hosted by Professor Konstantin Sobolev, Civil and Environmental Engineering.<\/p>\n<p><b>Our presenter is KONSTANTIN KOVLER, <\/b>PhD in Structural Engineering (Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, 1986). Affiliated with the Technion \u2013 Israel Institute of Technology since 1991, specializing in high-performance building materials, recycling of industrial residues, and radiological safety in construction.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Editor of leading journals and special issues in materials science and environmental radioactivity.<\/li>\n<li>Fellow (2006) and Honorary Member (2022) of RILEM, and Co-Chair of the ENA Working Group on NORM in Building Materials.<\/li>\n<li>Organizer of international conferences and symposia on concrete durability, early-age concrete, and sustainable construction.<\/li>\n<li>Active in European research initiatives and standardization, including chairing six committees at the Israeli Institute of Standards and representing Israel in ISO\u2019s Technical Committee on Radiological Protection.<\/li>\n<li>Author of six granted patents, over 120 peer-reviewed papers, and 35 books and chapters.<\/li>\n<li>In 2018, played a key role in opposing a proposed national radiation law, leading to its withdrawal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>All students, faculty and staff are welcome.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Questions?<\/strong> Contact Professor Konstantin Sobolev at <a href=\"mailto:sobolev@uwm.edu\">sobolev@uwm.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This research seminar is hosted by Professor Konstantin Sobolev, Civil and Environmental Engineering.
