{"id":31457,"date":"2026-10-20T13:09:03","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T18:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/?p=31457"},"modified":"2026-10-20T13:11:05","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T18:11:05","slug":"transportation-symposium-goes-next-level","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/transportation-symposium-goes-next-level\/","title":{"rendered":"Transportation symposium at UWM goes next-level"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The annual Southeast Wisconsin Transportation Symposium grew into an even bigger event than last year with record-breaking attendance and an inaugural Student Research Poster Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nearly 240 registrants from across the state and in multiple disciplines participated with 12 industry-leading sponsors and 22 speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Co-hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/ipit\/events\/2026-southeast-wisconsin-transportation-symposium\/\">UWM Institute for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation (IPIT)<\/a> and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), the symposium focused on the theme &#8220;Advancing Multi-Modal Integration in Wisconsin.&#8221; Multi-modal integration refers to the design of networks that help people easily switch from one mode of transportation to another during a single trip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-slider uwm-p-slider--dots-outside\"><div class=\"uwm-p-slider--auto\">\n<figure class=\"uwm-c-img--caption-gray\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/537\/2026\/10\/IPIT-2.jpg\" alt=\"A room full of people listening to a speaker.
